As we enter our sixth year, we have much to be proud of! In the last two years, under the leadership of Lynne Fife, we have produced our second full-color brochure/gallery/studio guide. A good distribution system has been established to accommodate the 35,000 brochures that will go to interested parties throughout the State and beyond. In 2005 we hosted a booth at “Spring for Art.” We held our first group show at Art Columbus and had our first Renaissance Week group show at the Brown County Art Gallery. We produced a large banner to use at shows and events. We worked out a system for sharing costs in printing and distributing artist rack cards. We donated a substantial amount toward the Brown County Art Scholarship Fund for a scholarship that was awarded in 2006. Our website has been up and running with links to our personal sites or serving as an individual’s only site. Some of us got together to run an ad in Southwest Art. We have set up a fine display at an Indianapolis plastic surgery/medical center. We rented a booth at the Antique Mall on Highway 65. We have held educational and interesting programs during our meeting including one by Tom Fife, professional speaker.
Looking forward, with new President Anabel Hopkins, we will continue our successful projects and begin new ones. Each of our general meetings will include at least a short program of local or wider interest. They will include art news updates and opportunities, information sessions on art juries, marketing and promotion, “how-to’s” in many areas and more. General meetings are held on the third Thursdays of most months at the Brown County Public Library. Our calendar, included on this site, provides details.
Art Alliance Brown County has established itself as a focal point for local artists and a strong organization to help coordinate the arts locally. We support artists, fledgling as well as established, in support of arts, artists and the community at large.
